Takes and records piezometer readings by use of a sensor lowered into 16 separate well casings <br />to determine the water saturation level in the dirt structure of the dam. <br /> <br />Serves as liaison with Concord Water Treatment Plant in coordinating for water quality <br />compliance issues.Measures and records lake level. <br /> <br />Measures and records rainfall. <br /> <br />Operates water intake values and spillway gates to control flow of water from reservoir. <br /> <br />Supervises work of maintenance worker(s). <br /> <br />Makes and/or contracts repairs to mechanical equipment. <br /> <br />Operates motor vehicle(s). <br /> <br />Conducts tours and escorts inspectors. <br /> <br />Acts as a liaison between County and neighbors bordering reservoir property. <br /> <br />Perfomxs other related work as required. <br /> <br />JOB RELATED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />This position involves physical work requiring the employee to exert up to 50 pounds of force <br />occasionally and less force frequently to move objects. Physical activity related to this position <br />may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, <br />pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Sufficient <br />visual acuity is required to read figures and analyze data; inspect equipment for small defects; <br />write up reports; and use a computer terminal. An employee in this position will spend <br />considerable time outside and will be exposed to seasonal changes in the weather including some <br />extremely adverse in nature. Also, the employee will be exposed to fumes from internal <br />combustion engines, raw sewage and the herbicides used to inhibit vegetation growth. <br /> <br />REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br /> <br />Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and policies regulating the operation and <br />maintenance of the reservoir including surrounding property; operation of a subsurface sewage <br />system, mechanical systems related to intake tower and spillway gates, motor vehicles and <br />powered mowing/vegetation cutting equipment; knowledge of reporting procedures and forms; <br />arithmetic skills; ability to maintain accurate records, ability to deal courteously with the public; <br />ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
