Members provided Support to the Cabarrus County Adult Care Home Work <br />Group's Continuing Education Committee which planned continuing <br />education programs for Adult Care Home staffs and attended several of <br />those training events. <br /> <br />Assisted in grievance and complaint resolution with families, residents, <br />and facilities. <br /> <br />10. Attended the four (4) guarterly training/business meetings with the <br /> Ombudsman. <br /> <br />11. Assisted with Christmas functions and other activities in nursing <br /> <br />facilities. <br /> <br />12. Supplied personal care items to several nursing facility residents <br />13. Conducted ~uarterlv nursin~ facility monitoring visits. <br /> <br />14. Participated in a variety of church, civic, and community-related <br /> activities/agencies/organizations. <br /> <br />15. Increased visibility and contacts in facilities due to nursing home <br /> enforcement regulations effective July i, 1995. <br /> <br />The committee experienced the following strengths during the year: <br /> <br />1. Assisted with many extra time-consuming activities. <br /> <br />2. Continued to co-sponsor and support the Cabarrus County Long Term <br /> Care Administrators' group that met ~uarterl¥. <br /> <br />3. Members of the NHCAC functioned as a committed, hard-working group. <br /> <br />4. Active full membership enabled the NHCAC to function more efficiently <br /> and added stability to the group. <br /> <br />5. Faithful attendance and participation at meetings and in visits by <br /> dedicated members. <br /> <br /> 6. Good consistent working relationship with the Ombudsman. <br /> <br />The committee experienced the following problems during the year: <br /> <br />1. Availability of medically necessary transportation for nursing facility <br /> residents continues to be a problem. <br /> <br /> <br />
