E. Controlled Substances and Alcohol - County Policy: In addition to the FHWA's and <br />FTA's definition of the term "safety sensitive function" to include the following position: <br /> <br />1. All drivers of the Company <br /> <br />2, Dispatcher <br /> <br />3. Vehicle maintenance work of any kind <br /> <br />4. Driver Development and Safety personnel <br /> <br />5. Employees holding CDL <br /> <br />6. "Safety sensitive functions" as defined by the FHWA and the FTA <br /> <br />Section 2 - Categories of Testing <br /> <br />A. Pre-employment <br /> <br /> Any applicant or current employee being considered for a safety-sensitive position, <br />or a position requiring a CDL, transfer to such position, or operating of a County <br />transportation system vehicle, shall be required to pass drug/alcohol screens as defined in <br />Federal DOT. regulations prior to being hired into that position, or performing any <br />functions of the position. County policy dictates that an alcohol concentration level of less <br />than 0.02 is required to pass the pre-employment test. <br /> <br />B. Reasonable Cause <br /> <br />1. Post accident <br /> <br /> Pursuant to County policy and D.O.T. regulations, the Company contracted to <br />provide service to the County will test every employee performing a safety sensitive <br />function, as soon as practical after an accident as defined below, if that employee's <br />performance could have contributed to the accident. The Company will conduct a post- <br />accident test under any of the following circumstances: <br /> <br />A There is a fatality, or <br /> <br /> B. A citation is issued to our employee by a State or local law enforcement official <br />for a moving traffic violation arising from the accident, and <br /> <br /> 1) there is bodily injury to anyone and they receive immediate medical treatment <br />away from the scene or <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
