88 <br /> <br />Nonprecision Instrument Runway - A runway having au existing <br />instrument approach procedure utilizing air navigation facilities <br />with only horizontal guidance, or area-type navigation equipment for <br />which a straight-in nonprecfsion instrument approach procedure has <br />been approved or planned and £or which no precision approach <br />facilities are planned or indicated on an FAA planning docmuent or <br />military service's military airport planning document. <br /> <br />Person - An individual firm partnership, corporation, company, <br />association, Joint stock association or governmental entity. It <br />includes a trustee, receiver, assignee or similar representative of <br />any of them. <br /> <br />Percision Instrtment Rur~ay - A run~ay having an existing instrument <br />approach procedure utilizing an Instrument Landing System (ILS) or <br />a Precision Approach Radar (PAR). lC also means a runway for which <br />s precision approach system is planned and ia so indicated on an FAA <br />approved airport layout plan; a military service's approved military <br />layout plan; any other FAA planning document, or military service's <br />military airport planning document. <br /> <br />Primary Surface - A surface longitudinally centered on a runway. <br />~/hen the runway has a specially prepared herd surface the primary <br />surface extends 200 feet beyond each end of thaC runway; but when <br />the runway has no specially prepared hard surface, or planned hard <br />surface, the primary surface ends et each end of that runway. The <br />width of the primary surface of a runway will be width prescribed in <br />Part 77 of the Federal Aviation Regulatlons (FAR) for the most <br />precise approach existing or planned for either end of that runway. <br />The elevation of any point on the primary surface is the same as the <br />elevation of the nearest point on the runway center line. <br /> <br />Runway - A defined area on an airport prepared for landing and <br />takeoff of aircraft along its length. <br /> <br />Structure - An object constructed or installed by man, including, <br />but without limitation, buildings, towers, smokestacks, earth <br />formations and overhead transmission lines. <br /> <br />Tree - A perennially woody plant having main trunk and usually a <br />distinct crown. <br /> <br />Section 4-26. Permitted Principal and Accessory Uses. <br />Permitted principal and accessory uses shall be those within the <br />underlying zoning districts, provided no use shall be made of land <br />or water within any zone established by these regulations in such a <br />manner as to create electrical interference with navigational <br />signals or radio communication between the airport and aircraft, <br />make it difficult for pilots to distinguish between airport lights <br />and others, result in glare in the eyes of pilots using the airport, <br />impair visibility in the vicinity of the airport, attract birds or <br />other concentrations of wildlife or otherwise in any way create a <br />hazard or endanger the landing, take-off or maneuvering of aircraft <br />intending to use the airport. <br /> <br />Section 4-27. Special Exceptions. <br />1. Conditional Use Permits Approved by the Board of Adjustment <br />Conditional uses shall be those permitted in the underlying zoning <br />districts. <br /> <br />Section 4-28.Area Regulations <br />Dimensional requirements such as lot size and building depth shall <br />be governed by the underlying zoning districts. Height requirements <br />shall be governed by the individual airport zone in which the <br />property lies, and the underlying zoning district. <br /> <br />1.-General Development Standards <br />(1) Establishment of Airport Zones <br />In order to carry out the provisions of these regulations, there are <br />created within the Airport Overlay District certain zones which <br />include all of the land lying within the approach zones, <br /> <br /> <br />
