II. <br /> <br />Centralina Private Industry_ Council (PIC} <br /> <br />A. Current Member~hi_o <br /> <br />Cabarrus County has four (4) members on the twenty (20) member Centralina <br />Workforce Development Board (WDB). The Cabarrus County Commissioners <br />will select and approve nominations for WDB members based on the slate of <br />nominations presented by the appropriate agencies and organizations listed <br />under 'General Information". Each WDB member is appointed to serve a two- <br />year term. General Information <br /> <br /> 06/30/97 100% <br /> 06/30/96 40% <br /> 06/30/97 100% <br /> 06/30/96 100% <br />~*Jim Sharp appointed 6/11/96 <br /> <br />The Centralina Workforce Development Board (WDB) - (formerly the Private <br />Industry Council or PIC) membership categories are currently mandated by <br />Federal legislation. While other individuals may be appointed to replace current <br />members whose terms are expiring, they must be selected from and according <br />to the conditions for the categories listed below. <br /> <br />Private Sector representatives shall be selected from among individuals <br />nominated by general purpose business organizations in the county. The <br />number of nominations shall be at least 150 percent of the number of private <br />sector individuals to be appointed in the county. Such nominations, and the <br />individuals selected from such nominations, shall reasonably represent the <br />industrial and demographic composition of the business community. Whenever <br />possible, at least one-haft of such business and industry representatives shall <br />be representatives of small business (500 or fewer employees), including <br />minority business. All private sector representatives must be active with their <br />company or business (non-retiree). <br /> <br />Private sector representatives, who shall constitute a majority of the <br />membership of the WDB, shall be owners of business concerns, chief <br />executives or chief operating officers of nongovernmental employees, or other <br />private sector executives who have substantial management, recruitment, <br />hiring, or policy responsibility. <br /> <br />Education representatives shall be selected from among individuals nominated <br />by local educational agencies, vocational education institutions, institutions of <br />higher education, or general organizations of such agencies and institutions, <br />and by private and proprietary schools or general organizations of such <br />schools in the county, i,,~ 2,-. <br /> <br /> <br />
