Prooosed <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP <br /> <br />The mission of the Cabarrus County Workforce Development Partnership, <br />an alliance of business, education, and government leaders, is to enhance <br />the area's quality of life by building a comprehensive, accessible, high- <br />performance workforce development system. <br /> <br />1. To increase the number of our citizens who are capable of working in high- <br /> performance workplaces; <br /> <br />2. To increase the capacity of the area's existing and emerging workforces as <br /> contributing factors in economic development; <br /> <br />3. To increase the opportunities of the existing workforce and recent graduates to <br /> find meaningful, high-wage employment locally and regionally; <br /> <br />To enhance and expand both the number and quality of the business, education, <br />government, and community partnerships necessary for a comprehensive <br />workforce development system. <br /> <br />DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />1. Establish the components of a Cabarrus County Workforce Development <br /> System; <br /> <br />Provide a forum for all participating workforce development partners to <br />collaborate in addressing the needs, plans, programs, activities and services of <br />the area's workforce system; <br /> <br />Advise local elected officials, employers, local education agencies and community <br />colleges, state, regional, and local employment and training agencies and <br />citizens about policy, programs and other information relative to their service <br />area workforce; <br /> <br />Serve as a point of contact for business, industry, and the public sector to <br />communicate their workforce needs; <br /> <br />Develop a local plan in coordination with appropriate community partners that <br />addresses the workforce development needs of their service area, which is <br />aligned with the goals, objectives, and performance standards established by the <br /> <br /> <br />
