Prooosed CABARRUS COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP The mission of the Cabarrus County Workforce Development Partnership, an alliance of business, education, and government leaders, is to enhance the area's quality of life by building a comprehensive, accessible, high- performance workforce development system. 1. To increase the number of our citizens who are capable of working in high- performance workplaces; 2. To increase the capacity of the area's existing and emerging workforces as contributing factors in economic development; 3. To increase the opportunities of the existing workforce and recent graduates to find meaningful, high-wage employment locally and regionally; To enhance and expand both the number and quality of the business, education, government, and community partnerships necessary for a comprehensive workforce development system. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Establish the components of a Cabarrus County Workforce Development System; Provide a forum for all participating workforce development partners to collaborate in addressing the needs, plans, programs, activities and services of the area's workforce system; Advise local elected officials, employers, local education agencies and community colleges, state, regional, and local employment and training agencies and citizens about policy, programs and other information relative to their service area workforce; Serve as a point of contact for business, industry, and the public sector to communicate their workforce needs; Develop a local plan in coordination with appropriate community partners that addresses the workforce development needs of their service area, which is aligned with the goals, objectives, and performance standards established by the
