BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of <br />Cabarrus County that: <br /> <br /> 1. Under the provisions of N.C.G.S. 131E-15, cA $¢¢., it is <br />in the best interest of the public health and welfare of Cabarrus <br />County to create a hospital authority to be identified as the <br />"Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County." <br /> <br /> 2. At a minimum, the activities of the Public Health <br />Authority of Cabarrus County shall include those functions of the <br />Board of Health of the County assigned now or later by or through <br />the General Statutes of North Carolina and/or the Board of <br />Commissioners of the County. The Public Health Authority of <br />Cabarrus County is granted the following powers by the Board of <br />Commissioners: <br /> <br /> (1) To investigate public health, medical, and health <br /> conditions and the means of improving those conditions; <br /> <br /> (2) To determine where inadequate public health and medical <br /> facilities exist; <br /> <br /> (3) To accept donations or money, personal property, or real <br /> estate for the benefit of the authority and to take title <br /> to the same from any person, firm, corporation or <br /> society; <br /> <br /> (4) To acquire by purchase, gift, devise, lease, <br /> condemnation, or otherwise any existing public health <br /> facilities; <br /> <br /> (5) To purchase, lease, obtain options upon, or otherwise <br /> acquire any real or personal property or any interest <br /> therein from any person, firm, corporation, city, county, <br /> or government; <br /> <br /> (6) To sell, exchange, transfer, assign, or pledge any real <br /> or personal property or any interest therein to any <br /> person, firm, corporation, city, county or government; <br /> <br /> (7) To own, hold, clear and improve property; <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
