Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 28025 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Clifton: <br /> <br />At the September 10, 1996 Area Mental Health Board meeting, the Board approved a <br />motion to accept the property at 242 North Second Street in Albemarle at no cost to the <br />Authority. This property has been used for many years as a halfway house for substance <br />abusers. <br /> <br />As Section 122C-147 ( c ) (see enclosure) states, Area Authorities may own property <br />subject to the approval of the County Commissions which consolidate the Authority. This <br />means that Piedmont must receive a resolution supporting Piedmont's ownership of the <br />property from the Union, Cabarrus, and Stanly County Commissions. <br /> <br />Also enclosed is a draft resolution which I believe meets the requirements of Section <br />122C-147 ( c ). <br /> <br />Could you please schedule this resolution for your next Commission meeting.
