* Evaluate new school sites for the suitability of a school/park and design, where possible, so <br />that the property can serve as a school/park, whether the park is developed at once or in the <br />furore; and <br /> <br />* When a facility is designated as a school/park, the process for selecting the additional facility <br />needs should include the user community fi.om that area. Included as Attachment A is a list of' <br />the standard facilities the school system includes at each new campus by type of school. <br />Attachment B is a list of facilities that are recommended to be included in the planning process <br />of each new school/park. It recognizes that everything listed in Attachments A and B cannot be <br />built; however, every effort should be made to accommodate as many as possible within fiscal and <br />physical constraints. <br /> <br />* Identify interior space and exterior site requirements for school and Parks/Recreation facilities; <br />and <br /> <br />* Assign to the Parks and Recreation Director the respons~ility to provide input into the <br />community design of school/park fac'gities by working jointly with the school design team <br />and architects. <br /> <br />* Develop master site plans for sites on which public facilities (school/park) will be relocated; <br />and <br /> <br />* Determine priorities, timetables for completion, and related fimding requh'ements for school <br />and park facilities; and <br /> <br />* Determine the funding available for school and parks/recreation fac/l/ties; and <br /> <br />* Determine the most appropriate and effective means of coordinating the construction, <br />renovation or repair of shared facilities on common sites; and <br /> <br />* Determine the most appropriate and effective means of coordinating wain~enanco of shared <br />public facilities located on common sites; and <br /> <br />* Develop any interlocal agreements of understanding needed to allow participants of other units <br />of governments in the co-location ofpubllc facilities; and <br /> <br />* Determine the most appropriate and practical means of providing public ownership of sites and <br />site improvements where public facilities are co-located. <br /> <br />* Assign to the School Superintendent and County Manager the respoua~ility of providing the <br />necessary staffing and other resources to participate in a coordinated facilities planning <br />process. <br /> <br /> <br />
