O

Enclosed is a revised plan which has been redesigned this week and is
now on the 'CADD system which has been released to the vadous
consulting engineers for action. Please advise immediately if there is a
problem, since time is quite critical in order to implement these changes
into the overall set of documents.

O

We have met with Steve Little on numerous occasions to receive his
thoughts and desires from a Parks & Recreational standpoint concerning
additional fields to be located on the school property and coordinate
correct sizes of same.

0

Via meetings with representatives of the odginal Educational
Specifications Committee who developed WES with Steve Little, it was
determined that the ball fields as previously designed and provided for
WES will continue in the same configuration for Rocky River. The
exception is that the fields will be slightly larger to allow for older children
to utilize these fields for recreational league baseball and soccer.

A concept was developed to allow for the Parks & Recreational
Department to eventually develop 3 or 4 additional fields on the lower
side of the school property. Our task will be to redesign the grading plan
to allow for the rough grading only for these fields. The actual fine
grading, crowning of the fields for drainage, exact layout, etc., will be by
-the Parks & Recreational Department or others and will not be
considered a part of this project to be developed by the Cabarrus County
Board of Education.

o Currently, it is difficult to determine the exact cost of rough grading these
fields. However, we believe that due to the large amount of mass grading
required in order to construct a building pad for the school facility, that it
is not overly expensive to simply grade off a large fiat area for these
additional ball fields as requested by Parks & Recreation. Once
engineering is complete by Concord Engineedng,'a more exact
guesstimate can be provided if desired.

o Regarding fee to make these changes, prevfously Concord Engineerfng
had indicated to Steve Little that fee to design these bail fields would be
approximately $8,000 - $10,000.
~ prO~n-~'ricl~-dfn g 'o~J'r-time~'fo ¢'al5 ~-rb'Xfrh-ate~ $4,000~'$6, O00~Efforts
will be made to keep the fee as Iow as possible.
