Owners/operators proposing to site a <br />new MSWLF unit w~thin a five.mile radius of any a~rport rullway shall notify the affected <br />airport and the' Federal Aviafon Administration prior to submitting the Site Study. <br /> <br />CDM will contact the Federal Aviation AdmSnistr-ofion to verify that the proposed landfill is <br />not withi~ 5,000 f~t of any airport nmway used only by piston-powezed aix~aft, o~ 10,000 <br />fees of any runway used by turbine-powexed aircraft. <br /> <br />CDM will also contac~ the FAA to detema~e if there are any airport runway8 used by turbhae- <br />powered o~ piston-powered aircraft located within a five-mile radius of the proposed sites. If <br />there aze any aixpom within five miles, CDM wi.Il noti~ the FAA and the affected aL~ort as <br />~equired. <br /> <br />Trak 4.2 - Floodplains <br /> <br />Rule .1622 (2) states that new MSWLF units shall not be located in 100-yeax floodplains <br />unless it can be demonstrated that the unit will not re~xict the flow of the 100-yeaz flood, <br />reduce the temporaxy water storage capacity of the floodplain, or result in washout of sol~d <br />waste so as to pose a hazard to human health and the environment. <br /> <br />It i~ a~sumed tha~ the Solid Waste Section will accept a copy of the FEMA (or sim~ar) map <br />covering the proposed l~dfill pwperty a~ demonstration that the proposes site does not fall in <br />a 100-yeat floodplain. This Amendment does not cover any other info,'mation that might be <br />requested by the Solid Waste Section to demonstrate compliance with the floodplain <br />restriction, nor any additional work ff a FEMA or simila~ map does not exist for the area of <br />the landfill <br /> <br />Page 9 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
