I CABAI~RUS COUN~I
~lO~]l~ C~ROLINA

MEMORANDUM

TO:

FROM:

DATE:

SUBJECT:

Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
Aubrey L. Attldss~
Director, Emergency Medical Services

December 20, 1994

Southeastern Regional Paramedic Competition

Our team from Cabarms County EMS, which was made up of Mike Coley and
Alan Thompson, competed in the Southeastern Regional Paramedic Competition in
Myrtle Beach, SC. November 27 through November 30, 1994. We are very proud that
this team placed SECOND in a competition hosted and judged by South Carolina
judges. The team from South Carolina came in First. Considering this is the first year
any team from Cabarms County has competed in any type of competition, we feel a
Second Place finish in both the North Carolina and Southeastern Competition is not only
a victory for Mike and Alan, but for Cabarrus County. The quality and dedication of
all of the Paramedics in Cabarrus County were exemplified in the professional manner
in which Mike and Alan represented us.

We know this is only the beginning and Mike and Alan, as well as additional
teams, will represent Cabarrus County again next year. They will accept nothing less
than First Place.

ALA/khc
Copy to:

John Witherspoon
John Day

Emergency Medical Services

PO aOX 707 ' ~-3rc3:'r' ,~]C ~ ~ ~~r~'' [734 ~': '
