Attldsso~ <br />Director, Emergency Medical Services <br /> <br />October 18, 1994 <br /> <br />North Carolina State Paramedic Competition <br /> <br /> In late August, a Paramedic team from Cabarrus County EMS entered the State <br />Regional Paramedic Competition for the Western Area. This competition involved 40 <br />teams from County EMS systems. The team from Cabarras County EMS, which was <br />made up of Alan Thompson and Mike Coley, went to Catawba Valley Community <br />College and finished FIRST in the Region. This qualified them for the State <br />Competition held in Greensboro, NC on October 2nd, 1994 in conjunction with the <br />State Annual EMS Conference. <br /> <br /> At the State Competition, eight teams were represented from all across the State <br />and the Cabarrus County EMS placed SECOND in that competition. We are extremely <br />proud of these two Paramedics to have placed this high in the State com~fifion. The <br />team was also selected to represent the State of North Carolina in the Southeastern <br />Regional Paramedic Competition in Myrtle Beach, SC the week of November 27th.
