CABARRUS COUNTY HOME HEALTH <br /> <br />Conflict of Interest Policy <br /> <br />Policy: <br /> <br />To provide guidance to members of the Home Health Advisory Board, Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners and Management to include; county manager, <br />area manager, director and supervisory staff, concerning the avoidance of conflict <br />of interest. <br /> <br />Effective Date: April 1, 1995 <br /> <br />Procedures: <br /> <br />Members of the Cabarrus County Home Health Advisory Board, Cabarms County Board <br />of Commissioners (hereafter referred to as Board members) and management staff shall <br />exercise loyalty and due care in all transactions relating to Cabarrus County Home <br />Health (hereinafter referred to as Agency). <br /> <br />In their dealings with and on behalf of the Agency, Board members and management are <br />held to a strict role of honest and fair dealing between themselves and the Agency. Board <br />members shall not use their positions, or knowledge gained therefrom, so that a conflict <br />might arise between the Agency's interest and that of any individual. <br /> <br />All acts of Board members and management shall be for the benefit of the Agency and the <br />citizens of Cabarrus County in any dealing which may affect the Agency adversely. <br /> <br />No Board members or management staff shall accept any gift, favor, or hospitality which <br />may influence his decision making or actions affecting the Agency or its staff <br /> <br />Board members and management shall, to the extent practical, avoid any employment, <br />activity, investment or other interest which might involve obligations which may compete <br />with or be in conflict with the interest of the Agency and shall promptly disclose the same <br />to the Director. <br /> <br />A full written disclosure by every Board member and management staff of all facts of any <br />transaction which is subject to any doubt concerning the possible existence of a conflict of <br />interest by the Board member, shall be made to the Chairman of the Board of <br />Commissioners or Advisory Board Chairman before consummating the same. <br /> <br />Each Board member and management staff shall disclose to the Board, any duality of <br />interest or conflict of interest that the member may have in a matter that is presented for <br />action to the Board. Such disclosure shall be made when the matter becomes a subject of <br />Board action. A Board member with a duality of interest or possible conflict of interest on <br />any matter should not vote or use personal influence on the matter and should not be <br />counted in determining a quorum for the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
