Box 707 Concord, NC 28026-0707 Dear $ohn: Enclosed please find a Budget Amendment Request for the Department of Aging. These adjustments are necessary for us to maintain the current level of participation and activities within the Department of Aging for Fiscal Year 1995. During the first quarter of this year (Inly - September) approximately 4,400 individuals participated in activities at the Cabarrus County Senior Center. This number more than doubled during the second quarter (October - December) to approximately 9,000. This drastic increase in activity not only affects programming cost, but all operating costs. We are currently experiencing an increase in utility use, cleaning supplies, consumable supplies, contracted services, etc. However, the good news is a very significant increase in revenue. $12,900 of this request will actually be used to offset inadequate funding for existing programs (as of July 1, 1994). The following information should help explain this request. REVENUE AMENDMENT REOUESTED: 01-6-57-60-606 · This $43,000 increase in revenue for program fees for senior services is projected because of the increase in participation in Special Events at the Senior Center and the organization of the Cabarms County Senior's Travel Club. 01-6-57-50-660 · This increase in revenue for the Consignment Shop is based on an overwhelming response to the' Gift Shop at the Senior Center prior to Christmas, 1994. BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUESTED: 01-6-57-60-301 * This increase in office supplies will be covered by the transfer of funds from 01-6-57-60-860. These funds were budgeted under "Capital Outlay" in error.
