SECTION 3: APPOINTMENT OF THE COMMISSION <br /> <br /> Each member of the Commission shall be appointed by the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners to include the following representation: <br /> <br />1 member <br />2 members <br />3 members <br />1 member <br /> <br />1 member <br />1 member <br />1 member <br />2 members <br /> <br />- Cabarrus County Commissioner <br />- Townships 1 (Harrisburg) and 2 (Poplar Tent) <br />- Townships 3 (Odell) and 4 (Kannapolis) <br />- Townships 5 (New Gilead), 6 (Rimertown), 7 (Gold Hill), and <br /> 8 (Mount Pleasant) <br />- Townships 9 (Georgeville) and 10 (Midland) <br />- Township 11 (Central Cabarrus) <br />- Township 12 (Concord) <br />- At-large <br /> <br />SECTION 4: LENGTH OF APPOINTMENT <br /> <br /> Each member shall be appointed for a three-year term with staggering terms <br />arranged so that approximately one-third of the terms will expire each year, except for <br />the representative from the governing body of the unit who shall serve on the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission concurrent with his term of office on the Governing Body. <br />Members may be replaced with or without cause and serve at the pleasure of the <br />Board of Commissioners. Members are eligible for reappointment, but not to exceed <br />two consecutive terms. <br /> <br />SECTION 5: MEETINGS <br /> <br /> Commission meetings shall be held on a monthly basis unless when determined <br />otherwise by the Commission. The Chairman of the Commission or, in his absence, <br />the Vice-Chairman, may call a special meeting of the Committee at any time by giving <br />each member 48 hour notice. Special meetings will be scheduled upon request by <br />four or more Commission members. A quorum of the Commission shall be in <br />attendance before action of an official nature can be taken. A quorum is a least 1 more <br />than the number absent, of the appointed members. <br /> <br />SECTION 6: ATTENDANCE OF MEMBERS <br /> <br /> An appointed member who misses more than three (3) consecutive regular <br />meetings loses his status as a member of the Commission until reappointed or he may <br />be replaced by the Governing Body. Absence due to sickness, death in the family, or <br />other emergencies of like nature shall be regarded as approved absences and shall <br />not effect the member's status on the Commission, except that in the event of a long <br />illness, or other such cause for prolonged absence, the member may be replaced. <br /> <br /> <br />
