ARTICLE IZ DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />SECTION 2.1 "SUBDIVISION" DEFINED <br /> <br />A "subdivision", as specified in General Statute 153A-335, shall include all divisions of a <br />tract or parcel of land into two or more loll, building sites, or other divisions for the <br />purpose of sale, or building development (whether immediate or future), and shall include <br />all division of land involving the dedication of a new street or change in existing streets; <br />however, the following shall not be included within this definition nor be su~ect to the <br />regulations authorized by this ordinance: <br /> <br />Ao <br /> <br />The combination or recombination of portions of previously platted and recorded <br />loll where the total number of loll is not increased and the resultant loll axe equal to <br />or exceed the standards prescribed for new lots by this Ordinance, and the Cabarrus <br />County Zoning Ordinance; <br /> <br />The division of land in parcels greater than ten (10) acres where no street right-of- <br />way dedication is involved; <br /> <br />The public acquisition by purchase of strips of land for the widening or opening of <br />streets; <br /> <br />The division of a tract in single ownership whose entire area is no greater than two <br />(2) acres into not more than three (3) loll, where no street right-of-way dedication is <br />involved and where the resultant loll are equal to or exceed the standards <br />prescribed for new lots by this Ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.2 OTHER DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />B <br /> <br />C <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />Eo <br /> <br />Abut - having property, district lines, fights of way or easements in common; e.g., <br />two loll abut if they have property lines in common. <br /> <br />Access - a way of approaching or entering a property from a streeL <br /> <br />Block - a parcel of land which is bounded on all sides by a public street or roadway. <br /> <br />Buildable Lot - a parcel of land of sufficient size to meet minimum zoning <br />requirements for use, coverage, and area; and to provide such setbacks and other <br />open spaces as required by other local ordinances. <br /> <br />Building - any structure designed or built for the suppo~ enclosure, shelter, or <br />protection of persons, animals, or chattels of any kind. <br /> <br /> <br />
