Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes
May 18, 1995

Page 25

The Chair said since this was not a super majority, this will
automatically go before the Board of Commissioners for their
approval at their next meeting on June 19, 1995.

Director's Report

Mr. Newton said we received two letters requesting what we think is a very
reasonable text amendment to the zoning ordinance. It deals with a agricultural
provision.

Mr. Marshall addressed Board presenting Petition 95-03(T) stating we received
letters from property owners who in larger parcels within the Medium Density
Residential would like to have horses. The staff feels that this is a reasonable
request and we proposed in response to their letters, their request to you that it
be changed. The staff proposes a text amendment that would make the
necessary amendments in the ordinance to allow horses within the Medium
Density Residential district on parcels greater than five acres. Mr. Mike Downs,
Zoning Administrator, has drafted this. The zoning text amendment is:

o

Amend Chapter Three, Section 3-7b(3) to allow "Agriculture including
livestock" in the Medium Density Residential zoning district as a use
permitted by standards.

Amend Chapter Three, Section 3-7a to delete Stables, private as a line
item.
Amend Chapter Three, Section 3-7B(1) & (2) to delete Stables, private as a
line item.

Amend Chapter Seven, Section 7-4(42) - delete this section from the
ordinance.

Amend Chapter Seven, Section 7-4(2) to read:

2. Agriculture including livestock

Zones permitting based on standards:
*Low Density Residential, Medium Density Residential
