RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Yadkin/Pee Dee.Lakes Project is working to promote tourism in the <br />seven-county Uwharrie Lakes Region (Anson, Davidson, Montgomery, <br />Randolph, Richmond, Rowan and Stanly); and <br /> <br />as part of this effort, the Yadkin/Pee Dee Lakes Project has applied to the <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation to have a scenic byway loop <br />established within the region as part of the state's Scenic Byway Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County contains a portion of this proposed route; and <br /> <br />this scenic byway loop has the potential to draw tourists into the Uwharrie <br />Lakes Region, thereby creating economic opportunities for the counties and <br />the communities along the byway's path; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Cabarrus County voices full support for the <br />Yadkin/Pee Dee Lakes Project in its effort to work with the North Carolina Department <br />of Transportation to establish this scenic byway loop for the Uwharrie Lakes Region. <br /> <br />This the 17th day of July, 1995. <br /> <br />Jeffrey L.
