ERING <br /> <br />William E, Cochran, Jr., P.E. <br /> <br />(704) 782-1456 <br /> <br />PROPOSAL FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />FOR CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> AUGUST 1, 1995 <br /> <br />Part I - Investigation and Report (if necessary) <br /> <br />The Engineer will investigate, review, consult, develop reports, <br />file forms or attend conferences for the Owner for his proposed <br />needs which may include, but not necessarily be limited to, the <br />following principal items: <br /> <br />Consult with the Owner to determine Owner's requirements and <br />to advise the Owner as to the necessity of providing <br />or obtaining services from others of types mentioned in Part <br />IV. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />A study of the needs of the population trends, proposed <br />improvements, existing records and plans, and their effect on <br />the present and future facilities. <br /> <br />A preliminary layout of the proposed improvements, including <br />sizes and locations of the proposed facilities. <br /> <br />Recommendations relative to the development of the <br />preliminary layout, use of material or alternate solutions <br />will be made for the proposed facilities. <br /> <br />5. A preliminary cost estimate of the proposed program. <br /> <br />6. The coordination of the proposed system with applicable <br /> local, state, and/or federal regulatory agencies. <br /> <br />It is mutually understood that assistance will be given by the <br />Owner in the preliminary investigations, and that the Engineer <br />will have access to records and necessary financial data <br />available in the municipal offices concerning the proposed <br />facilities. <br /> <br />For these services the Engineer will be paid by the Owner on an <br />hourly rate as indicated in Part IV, Number 9. <br /> <br />Part II - Detailed Plans and Specifications <br /> <br />When the Owner decides to proceed with the final design phase of <br />the project and notifies the Engineer to proceed, the Engineer <br />will perform the following services: <br /> <br />Prepare complete construction plans and specifications. <br /> <br />Advise the Owner of any adjustment of the cost estimate of <br />the project caused by changes in scope, design, requirements <br />or increased construction costs. <br /> <br /> <br />
