CABARRUS COU'NTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Meeting Date September 5. 1995 <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Consideration of Proposed Change (Revised) to Article VI, Leaves of Absence, of the <br />Cai>arms County Personnel Ordinance , <br /> <br />A change to the Educational Leave section of the ordinance was proposed by Commissioner Kenneth <br />Mills at the 7/17/95 Board of Commissioners Meeting. Action on adopting the change was deferred <br />pending additional review by stale As a result the attached is presented for consideration with the <br />following major changes to the original proposal: <br /> <br />1. Leave would be limited to regular full-time employees (class 101). <br />2. Leave would be granted for only (1) one course at a time. <br />3. Reimbursement for course expenses would be limited to a maximum of $400 in tuition per <br /> course. <br /> <br />These changes are recommended to provide a balance between the employee's and the County's <br />commitment to improving job related skills and knowledge.
