Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes <br />August 17t 1995 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />The Chair introduced the third item on the Agenda, Zoning Atlas Amendment, <br />Petition 95-06: <br /> <br />Applicant: Melvin & Helen Greene <br />Requestz. Rezoning of Property from HDR to GI <br /> <br />This was a request to the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning <br />Commission from Melvin & Helen Greene, PIN 5539-22-6803, to <br />have their property located on the southside of N.C. 49 at Irish <br />Buffalo Creek rezoned from High Density Residential to General <br />Industrial. <br /> <br />Mr. Jonathan B. Marshall Staff Member, addressed the Board <br />presenting Petition 95-06 and Staff Analysis stating he had noted <br />that there would be a transportation impact review that he would <br />present tonight, but he does not have that at this time. He said <br />they are looking at two different types of a truck terminal and <br />multi-family development. Mr. Marshall said staff recommends <br />approval. He said as we have discussed over the last four or five <br />meetings there is an identified community need for nonresidential <br />zoning, particularly industrial and this is a good location based on <br />services, access, and surrounding land use. This is an area that we <br />Will be looking at very closely when we update the area plan. <br /> <br />The Chair opened the Public Hearing on Petition 95-06. <br /> <br />Mr. Melvin Greene, Petitioner, addressed the Board stating they <br />would like to have their property rezoned General Industrial for <br />storage of their trailers. <br /> <br />The Chair closed the Public Hearing on Petition 95-06. <br /> <br />There being no further comments, Mr. Kiefer MOTIONED, <br />seconded by Ms. Harkey to approve Petition 95-06 as submitted. <br /> <br />Mr. Jeter asked when will the Board be rev/siting this area? <br /> <br /> <br />
