CABARRUS COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> <br />STANDARDS: <br /> a) Minimum tract size: 30 acres is required. <br /> <br />b) Location of mechanized equipment, Any and all mechanized sawing equipment must be <br />located a minimum of 500 feet from tract boundary lines. <br /> <br />41. Self-service storage facilities <br /> <br />'" Zones permitting based on standards: <br /> *High density/mixed use residential, office/limited commercial, general commercial. <br /> <br />STANDARDS: <br /> <br /> 1) Parking: <br /> a) Customer parking. Interior travel lanes which serve storage units are required to <br />have a parking lane with a minimum width of 10 feet for loading/unloading purposes. <br /> <br /> b) Leasing office/employee parking. One parking space is required for every 100 <br />storage units with a minimum of three spaces required. <br /> <br /> 2) Interior travel lanes. One-way interior travel lanes must have a minimum width of <br />15' in addition to the 10 foot wide parking lane. All two-way interior travel lanes serving <br />storage units must have two (2) 12-foot wide travel lanes and be provided with a 10 foot <br />wide parking lane~ <br /> <br />..... 3) Building height. <br /> <br /> a) High denii _ty/mixed use residential and the Office/limited commercial; May not <br />exceed one story, i.e., a maximum interior ceiling height of 10 feet - eight feet with an <br />additional two feet to accommodate a garage-type sliding or roll up door. <br /> <br /> b) General commercial: Height maximums are governed by the zone. See Chapter <br />Five Dimensional Requirements. <br /> <br /> 4) Lighting. All outdoor lights must be shielded to direct light and glare only onto the <br />facility's premises and may be of sufficient intensity to discourage vandalism and theft, <br />Lighting and glare must be deflected, shaded and focused away fi.om any adjoining <br />residential property. <br /> <br />116 <br /> <br /> <br />
