NHCAC Membership Guidelines <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />One third of all appointments are to be nominated by nursing home <br />administrators. If the administrators fail to make a nomination <br />within 45 days after written notification, such appointments may <br />be made by the commissioners. <br /> <br />Committee members completing the initial term may be reappointed <br />for a three year term. (You may contact the Regional Ombudsman to <br />determine if the committee member has been active and effective.) <br /> <br />Any vacancies should be filled by appointment of a person for a one <br />year term. <br /> <br />The State Division of Aging may fill any vacancy if the <br />commissioners have not made appointments within 45 days. <br /> <br />Members of the committee are not compensated for their work, but <br />may be reimbursed for their actual expenses (such as mileage).
