This project included 5,700 feet of 8 and 12 inch <br />gravity sewer, a pump station on Morrison Road and 27,300 feet of <br />force main to the existing outfall along Back Creek on Pharr Mill <br />Road, thus eliminating the discharge of treated waste from the <br />Howell Center waste treatment plant into Caldwell Creek. <br /> <br /> The low bidder was R. F. Shinn Contractor, Inc. of <br />Concord, N. C. with a bid of $542,726.38 for the Base Bid (6 <br />inch force main) and $593,921.40 for the Alternate Bid (8 inch <br />force main). The E~gineer's estimate was $537,000.00. ! am very <br />pleased with the low bid, as well as the number of Contractors <br />bidding the project. We do have <br />approval from the Sedimentation and Erosion Control Division, the <br />Corps of Engineers and the Department of Transportation. <br /> <br /> There are three rights-of-way to secure and we anticipate <br />having them in hand sometime this month. <br /> <br /> <br />
