This project included 5,700 feet of 8 and 12 inch
gravity sewer, a pump station on Morrison Road and 27,300 feet of
force main to the existing outfall along Back Creek on Pharr Mill
Road, thus eliminating the discharge of treated waste from the
Howell Center waste treatment plant into Caldwell Creek.

The low bidder was R. F. Shinn Contractor, Inc. of
Concord, N. C. with a bid of $542,726.38 for the Base Bid (6
inch force main) and $593,921.40 for the Alternate Bid (8 inch
force main). The E~gineer's estimate was $537,000.00. ! am very
pleased with the low bid, as well as the number of Contractors
bidding the project. Following is a list of the bidders and
their bids.

BIDDER

R. F. We do have
approval from the Sedimentation and Erosion Control Division, the
Corps of Engineers and the Department of Transportation.

There are three rights-of-way to secure and we anticipate
having them in hand sometime this month.
