RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />CONVERSION OF ANNUAL VACATION LEAVE TO SICK LEAVE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarms County Board of Commissioners expresses its intent to <br />provide sick leave benefit policies for county employees consistent with a policy adopted <br />by the 1993 General Assembly with regard to the conversion of state employees' and <br />teachers' excess annual vacation leave to sick leave; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarms County Board of Commissioners hereby adopts and <br />implements the following Annual Vacation Leave Conversion Policy: <br /> <br />At the end of each benefit year on December 31 any county employees <br />with accrued annual vacation leave in excess of 240 hour (336 hours in the case <br />&Emergency Medical Services Personnel working a schedule of 24 hours on <br />duty and 48 hours offduty) have this leave converted to sick leave. This <br />convened sick leave shall be used in the same manner as accrued sick leave and <br />may be used for authorized sick leave purposes. And, like regular sick leave, <br />any unused convened sick leave may be counted toward creditable service at <br />retirement up to a maximum of 12 total sick leave days per year of service. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners hereby adopts and implements this amendment to the Cabarrus County <br />Personnel Ordinance effective January 1, 1994, with a copy of this Resolution to be <br />forwarded to the Local Governmental Employees Retirement System. <br /> <br />Adopted this 7th day of February, 1994. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Frankie F.
