No outside storage is permitted in either the High density residential/mixed <br />use zone or the Office/limited commercial zones. <br />***************************************************************************** <br /> <br />Notes: (from Standards for Self-Service Storage Facilities, APA.) <br /> <br />1) Square footage: The average SSSF has 46,863 square feet of rentable space. <br /> <br />2) Traffic: Studies have shown that SSSFs generally receive only two-axle vehicles, not semi- <br />trucks, and that they generate only a small amount of traffic spread over a long period of time. <br /> <br />3) Users: An estimated 65 to 70 percent of SSSF space is rented by people who need more <br />space for storing personal possessions. <br /> <br />4) History: Over the past 20 years, there has been a trend away from viewing SSSFs as a <br />warehouse activity appropriate to industrial/commercial zones only.
