It is the call that will tell them that the donated organs that they
must have to save their lives have been found. About 900 of those people live in North
Carolina, maybe even some of them in your county.

On behalf of the North Carolinians who are anxiously awaiting the gift of life, I am
asking you to issue a proclamation in observance of National Organ and Tissue Donor
Awareness Week which begins on April 17th. As a convience, I have enclosed a draft
copy of the joint proclamatio..n which is being issued by the City of Charlotte and
Mecklenburg County. Feel free to "borrow" heavily from its text or to compose one of
your own creation.

LifeShare would be pleased to provide a representative from our organization to officially
receive the proclamation at one of your meetings. Or, if time does not permit, we would
appreciate it if you would maiI it to LifeShare at the address listed below.

Thank you for your consideration of our request. Enclosed you will find some literature
on organ and tissue donation. After reading it, if you have any further questions; please
contact me at 704-355-3047 or 1-800-932-GIVE.

Sincerely,

Debbie Gibbs
Public Relations Manager

Enclosures

CHARLOTTE,
BUILDING A-3
1 -800-932-G I V E

P.
