Page 2 <br />Mr. Witherspoon <br />April 19, 1994 <br /> <br />B. General Information <br /> <br />Members may serve for three consecutive two-year terms or <br />a total of six years. After a one-year lapse in membership, <br />said member is eligible for reappointment. <br /> <br />- Alternates serve for a one-year term. <br /> <br />No Advisory Committee shall be employed by an Agency <br />which is receiving Older American Act funds. <br /> <br />At least 50% of appointees should be over 60 years of age. <br />The Committee meets about once every three months and <br />advises the staff and COG Board on the Area Plan, allocation <br />of funds, etc. <br /> <br />Specific Requests <br /> <br /> James Graeber has served three terms for a total of six years <br /> and is not eligible for reappointment. <br /> <br />Betty Babb has served as an alternate for one year and may <br />be reappointed for another one-year term if you wish or can <br />be moved into the member position and a new alternate be <br />appointed. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Centralina Development Corporation, Inc. <br /> <br />A. Membership <br /> <br />Cabarrus County has three (3) of twenty-five (25) members. They <br />are appointed by the County Commissioners and represent (1) local <br />government (2) local private lending institutions (3) local community <br />organizations (4) business organization (the local government <br />representative may - but need not be a local elected official). <br /> <br />The membership meets once a year (annual meeting) and elects two <br />of the three members of the Board of Directors. The Board meets <br />on the last Tuesday of each month at 12:00 Noon for lunch with the <br />meeting beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Board, in addition to <br />establishing the practices, policies and procedures, reviews loan <br />applications from applicants throughout the region. Most members <br />are financially oriented in that they are or have been employed by a <br />bank or savings and loan, they are active in the area of economic <br />development or they have experience in operating a business. It is <br />imperative that the member, if elected to the Board, be willing to <br />actively participate and attend the monthly meetings on a regular <br />basis. <br /> <br /> <br />
