VI. <br /> <br />Safety <br />a. <br />b. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />d. <br /> <br />e. o <br /> <br />Treat all guns as if they are loaded. <br /> <br />Never use the weapon as a club or hammer. <br /> <br />Do not throw the weapon in any manner. <br /> <br />Never hand a loaded weapon to anyone. <br /> <br />If someone hands you an unloaded weapon, make sure it is unloaded, <br />do not take their word for it, check to be sure. <br /> <br />Never take the weapon for granted. <br /> <br />Warning shots are never allowed. <br /> <br />Keep the weapon pointed up at port arms or down range at all times. <br />Keep your fingers off the trigger until the decision to fire has been made. <br />Always know what your target is and be aware of its environment. <br /> <br />IV. Discharge of Firearm <br /> <br />An Officer will file a wdtten report to the Health Dirctor or his/her designee on any dis- <br />charge of firearms, other than training, within eight (8) hours of the incident. <br /> <br />V. Possible Disciplinary Action <br /> <br />When a firearm is fired, the employee involved may be suspended without <br />pay by the Health Director until a determination is made as to whether or not <br />the use of the weapon was appropriate. If the use of the weapon was appro- <br />priate, the employee will be reinstated with no loss of pay. <br /> <br />If the use of the weapon was inappropriate, the employee may be sus- <br />pended without pay or dismissed. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
