Proposed Amendment Article III - Pay Plan <br />Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance <br />June 20, 1994 <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Progression Above Job Rate. Salary increases above job rate are reserved <br />for special recognitions: <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />An employee at or above job rate shall be considered for <br />a merit increase each year on the anniversary of his or <br />her date in position. A merit increase (pay for <br />performance) will or will not be awarded depending <br />upon the score received on the performance evaluation <br />done at that time. If an employee qualifies, the <br />department head recommends a merit increase based <br />upon the standards listed in the DevElopment and Merit <br />Pay Administration Guide (Appendix H). When <br />approved by the County Manager, the increase is added <br />to the employee's salary base. <br /> <br />When an employee complet¢~s//tfftr.oj/e~ or performs an <br />action of a singular nature w~i~hf~su/ltsfin spe'~ial benefit(s) <br />to the county and/or its cifze/fi~, it~orChe( salary base may <br />be increased as recommende~C/by the department head with <br />the approval of the County Manager. 3 <br /> <br />Salary Adjustments. Increases may be made to an employee's salary base if <br />justified by an unusual or inequitable situation and approved by the County <br />Manager. <br /> <br />Section 4. Payment at a Listed Rate <br /> <br /> All employees covered by the pay plan shall be paid at a listed rate within the salary ranges <br />established for their respective job classes except for employees in a trainee status, or employees <br />whose present salaries are above the established maximum rate following transition to a new pay <br />plan or due to a job status change. <br /> <br /> <br />
