AMENDMENT NO. 5 TO THE AGREEMENT <br /> BETWEEN <br /> OWNER AND ENGINEER <br /> FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES RELATED TO THE <br />CABARRUS COUNTY SOLID WASTE PROGRAM <br /> <br />FURTHER DESCRIPTION OF BASIC SERVICES, DUTIES OF OWNER, <br /> METHOD OF PAYMENT, AND RELATED SERVICES <br /> <br />This AMENDMENT to THE AGREEMENT made as of , 1994 is hereby <br />included as an addition to and incorporated as part of the AGREEMENT FOR <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES made on February 4, 1991, between Cabarrus County, North <br />Carolina (OWNER OR COUNTY) AND Camp Dresser & McKee (ENGINEER or CDM) for <br />study and report professional services. <br /> <br />MSW COMPOSTING STUDY <br /> <br />The Basic Services of ENGINEER as described in Section 1 of said Agreement are <br />amended and supplemented as follows: <br /> <br />Cabarrus County is seeking an evaluation of the technical and financial feasibility of constructing <br />a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Composting facility to manage the municipal waste now being <br />landfilled in the Cabarrus County landfill. The evaluation will be presented in report format and <br />will include: <br /> <br />Technology identification and evaluation <br />Applicable regulatory requixements <br />Facility sizing analysis <br />Compost market analysis <br />Financing and ownership analysis <br />System cost analysis <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />Task I - Technology Identification and Evaluation <br /> <br />CDM will investigate, describe, and discuss various MSW composting technologies currently in <br />operation or actively being marketed in the U.S. CDM will provide a listing of operational and <br />planned MSW composting systems (100 tons per day or greater) and major equipment vendors <br />associated with these facilities. This listing will include a matrix or table format summary of each <br />facility's: <br /> <br />· Status <br />· Start-up year <br /> <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
