I'm writing you to ask for your help and participation in this
nation-wide grassroots campaign.

i_3vould appreciate your assistance in presenting tile attachea resolution to your elected
officials as soon as possible. Last year we sponsored a successful campaign to designate
Labor Day as "Try American Day." Not only did we obtain Congressional Joint resolution
#124, but more than half the US Governors, as well as hundreds of cities and counties, all
participated in Try American Day.

USA Owned/USA Made is a non-profit, non-partisan national organization dedicated to
promoting American made products and services. Try American Day is our annual campaign
to encourage Americans to return to purchasing quality American made goods and services.

In 1994 we are expanding our efforts and we hope to more than double last year's
participation. We've also added several new components to our campaign. First, we would
like all governing agencies that participate to designate Labor Day as Try American Day, in
perpetuity. By doing so, you will allow our organization to concentrate our efforts on the
other two new components of our campaign: public awareness and Try American Day event
coordination.

Attached is a sample of last years resolution. Feel free to copy this resolution and change it to
fit your community. Many cities and counties have added information relating to their local
economies.

Last year we conducted our camvaign in 5 short weeks. This year we're sta~ing montl2s
earlier so we can accomplish our higher goals. Please help us in our efforts to improve local
economies and help our fellow American owned businesses.

We would appreciate receiving the original resolution or proclamation via mail when it is
approved by your elected officials.

Please call (800)USA-OWN7 for any assistance or questions. We have members across the
country and may be able to coordinate their receiving the proclamation in person at your next
official meeting. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Rick Mnth
Founder, USA Owned/USA Made
