CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the creativity and ingenuity of American working men and women in the <br />United States has provided a host of new products and services which improve <br />the quality of life in the United States and the World; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the American spirit of entrepreneurship, pride of craftsmanship, and <br /> commitment to quality are hallmarks recognized throughout the world; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the quality and abundance of American goods produced in Cabarrus County, <br />the State of North Carolina, and the United States are a tribute to the <br />productMty and ability of American workers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Cabarrus County is the home of a number of major manufacturing companies <br />that produce a wide range of quality products and services, including textiles, <br />cigarettes, plastics fabrication, hosiery, and infant's wear; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in addition to the large companies, there are countless small businesses in <br />Cabarrus County which provide a basis for economic progress, and for the <br />creation of jobs.and opportunities for the citizens of this community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the purchase of American made goods and services is of vital importance to <br />the citizens of Cabarrus County, the State of North Carolina, and the United <br />States as it serves to improve local economies and to help our fellow citizens. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby proclaim Labor Day, in perpetuity, as 'Wry American Day" in <br />Cabarrus County and call upon the citizens of this county to honor the day through the <br />purchase of American made goods and services. <br /> <br />This the 1st day of August, 1994. <br /> <br />Jeffrey L.
