The document contains information, analysis,
conclusions, and recommendations for the possibility of implementing MSW composting
as part of the solid waste management system in Cabarrus County. Based on the study,
CDM determined that the cost of implementing a MSW composting system would
exceed by approximately $30/ton the cost of your current solid waste management
system. Based on this financial analysis and the technological problems experienced by
many of the current, e.xisting MSW composting facilities throughout the United States,
CDM does not recommend this solid waste management alternative at this time.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions about this feasibility study.
We look Forward to meeting with you to present and receive comments on this final
draft report.

Very truly yours,

CAMP DRESSER & McKEE INC.

J~'seph F.
