effect the quality of our data collection. Natural phenomena such as solar flares that
alter the earth's magnetic field can also distort the field data. We will avoid man-
made features to the extent possible and re-calibrate our instrument to check for
magnetic fluctuations. Our interpretation will therefore be based on the available
collected data. Upon completion of our analyses, we will present the results of our
field work and analyses in a letter report.

Task 3.5 - Monitor Well Location/Elevation Surveying

The locations and elevation of all new piezometers will have to be surveyed by a Registered
Land Surveyor. In addition, the results of the Magnetic Survey will require locating by a
Registered Land Surveyor. CDM will retain the services of a land surveyor to provide
coordinates and elevations for each of the borings completed in Task 3.3 and to locate the
Magnetic Survey results in Task 3.4. Since the actual number of piezometers to be located
and the data from the magnetic survey is unknown at this time, an estimated cost allowance
for these services has been provided in Section 4 of this Amendment. It is recognized,
however, that the exact cost of these services will not be known until the boring plan is
approved by the SWS. Therefore, it is possible that the cost of these services will vary from
the allowance provided. CDM will not exceed the amount allocated in Section 4 without
separate written authorization from the County. It should be noted the County will only be
invoiced for the actual cost of the surveying.

Task 3.6 - Site Hydrogeologic Report

Once a preferred site option is selected by the County, CDM will prepare a Site
Hydrogeologic Report for that option in accordance with Rule .1623 (a)(1-13). The scope of
services for the report is outlined below:

3.6.1

Regional Report - CDM will prepare a report on local and regional geology and
hydrogeology based on research of available literature for the area. This information
is to be used in planning the field investigation for the Option A and Option B area.
This report shall include a fracture trace analysis and Rose Diagram, based at a
minimum on an evaluation of structurally controlled features identified on a
topographic map of the area.

3.6.2 Field Report - CDM will prepare a report on field observations of the site that includes
information on the following:

(A)

Topographic setting, springs, streams, drainage features, existing or abandoned
wells, rock outcrops, (including trends in strike and dip), and other features
that may affect site suitability or the ability to effectively monitor the site; and,

(B)

Groundwater discharge features. A more extensive hydrogeologic investigation
may be required for a proposed site where the owner or operator does not
control the property from any landfill unit boundary to the controlling,
downgradient, groundwater discharge feature(s).
