MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: John V. Witherspoon/County Manager <br />FROM: Mike Byrd/Transportation Planner <br />DATE: November 14, 1994 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Human Service Transportation Management (HST1V0 grant from <br /> the Public Transportation and Rail Division, NCDOT <br /> <br />The State has allocated additional transportation funding to be spent toward <br />staff positions that relate to the current transit systems in the State. I have talked <br />with NCDOT, and they agree that individuals in a position like mine should be <br />eligible for the funding also. The total amount eligible is $9,375 every six <br />months. This would require a twenty-five percent match by the County, which <br />would available from my current salary. <br /> <br />Attached is a resolution that needs to be approved by the Commissioners, and <br />included in the grant application. A Memorandum of Understanding that <br />would need to be signed by the Chairman of the Commissioners, Mr. Cook from <br />DSS and Mr. Murphy from DeparLment of Aging is also attached. <br /> <br />I would appreciate the Commissioners acting on the resolution, and allowing the <br />Chairman to sign the other document at a later date. This grant needs to be <br />turned into NCDOT by December 7, 1994 for approval.
