RESOLUTION TO APPLY AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />FOR HUMAN SERVICE TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM <br />FUNDS <br /> <br />A motion was made by and seconded by <br /> for adoption of the following resolution, and <br />upon being put to a vote was duly adopted: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2B of G.S. 136 of the North Carolina General Statutes <br />designates the Depa~h~tent of Transportation as the agency of the State of North <br />Carolina responsible for administering all federal and/or state programs relating <br />to public transportation, and grants the Depart~ent authority to do all things <br />required urtder applicable federal and/or state legislation to administer properly <br />the public transportation programs within the State of North Carolina; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina department of Transportation created the <br />Human Service Transportation Management (HSTM) Program to provide <br />human service clients with safe and reliable transportation and to ensure that <br />human service txansportation across the state is provided in the most efficient <br />and cost effective manner, using the highest level of coordination possible; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabat~:us County has requested the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation to assist in the funding of the FY 1994-94 HSTM program for the <br />County of Cabarrus, and to undertake tasks identified in the program <br />application, consistent with the Transportation Development Plan for Cabarrus <br />County; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County will provide at least twenty-five percent (25%) <br />local match for eligible administrative costs for the above described project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County will provide information regarding use of the <br />funds at such time and in such manner as the Department may require. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Cabarrus <br />County Commissioners is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement on <br />behalf of Cabarrus County with the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation and execute all agreements with the Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
