He does believe that the board has an obligation, that when they create these plans for the County to guide growth and what we project that the citizens want also. He said he thinks the board does have responsibility to try to adhere these plans. Ms. Stafford said she has some concerns, mostly about that large industrial area where there are no specific plans brought before the board. She said she also has concern about the traffic. Mr. Amos said he also has some concerns. He said the board heard loud and clear that the individuals living in that area would like to see it stay residential in character and see the commercial development be down around the 29 corridor which is consistent with the Western Area Plan that was done there. If we take and publish plans and then less than two or three months later we come back and put in major developments that are inconsistent with that, then he questions why the planning process is even done. There being no further comments, Mr. Smith MOTIONED, seconded by Ms. Stafford to deny Petition 93-01 as presented. The vote was unanimous. Mr. Olio-Mills seat on the board is expiring, but the Commissioners did not fill his seat as of yet. Howard Hurlocker, Dennis Shultz and Tim Huie seats expired. The Chair said on behalf of the board they do appreciate their service to us, their hard work, their integrity and their service to the community and they wish them the best. She also extended the same to Kenneth Olio-Mills.
