Box 707 <br />Concord, North Carolina 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Dear John: <br /> <br />In response to conversations between our staff and yours, we are <br />submitting a proposal for conducting a retreat with the Board of <br />Commissioners. David Galati of our staff would be in charge of the <br />retreat. As you know, David has a long background in the field of <br />meeting facilitation having been in charge of a number of strategic <br />planning projects throughout the Centralina region and elsewhere. <br />Based on the scope of services herein contained, there would be no <br />charge for this project if the County uses a block of forty free <br />hours from its FY 1993-94 allocation. <br /> <br />What follows is an outline of services which would be provided by <br />Centralina to Cabarrus County: <br /> <br />A. MEET WITH STAFF TO DISCUSS RETREAT FRAMEWORK <br /> <br />David Galati will meet with County staff to discuss the basic <br />framework of the retreat and to put together a retreat <br />planning session with staff and one or more Board of <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br />B. CONDUCT A PLANNING SESSION FOR THE RETREAT <br /> <br />A planning session involving David Galati, John Witherspoon, <br />one or more Board of Commissioners, and other County staff (as <br />deemed appropriate by the County) will be held to formalize <br />the logistics of the retreat. Issues which would be decided <br />could include: where is the retreat to be held? what time is <br />it to be held? what County staff, if any are to be present? <br />will there be media coverage? what will be the role of the <br />facilitator? and, how the retreat is to be conducted. <br /> <br />Such questions will need to be addressed before the retreat <br />can actually take place. As mentioned, David Galati will be <br />in charge of conducting the retreat.
