BYLAWS <br /> OF <br />CJ%KOLINA$ P~i~FR-ERSHI~, INC. <br /> <br />~ The name of the corporation shall be the Carolinas <br />Partnership, Inc. and its principal place of business shall be in <br />Charlotte, North Carolina. <br /> <br />to: <br /> <br />The mission of the Carolinas Partnership, Inc. is <br /> <br />a. stimulate commerce in the following counties: Anson, <br />Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, GasCon, Iredell, Lances%er, <br />Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York by <br />encouraging the establishment and expansion of businesses in such <br />!ocakions, (by using such techniques, among others, as the <br />institution of an economic development marketing plan) thereby <br />decreasing unemployment and increasing standards of living for <br />the community generally; <br /> <br />b. promote the common interest of the members of the <br />corporation in stimulating demand for goods and services provided <br />by said members through the recruitment of new businesses to the <br />area in which said members conduct business and facilitate the <br />expansion of existing area businesses; through related techn&ques <br />of general economic development; and <br /> <br />c. do any and all lawful acts and things, and to engaq~ in any <br />and all lawful acti¢~ies which may be necessary or desirable in <br />connection with one or more of the aforesaid purposms. Provided, <br />however, that in carrying out its purposes and exercising its <br />power, the Carolinas Partnership shall be subject to the <br />limitation that it shall not engage in any activities which would <br />cause it to fail to qualify under Section 501 (c)(6) of the United <br />States Internal Revenue Code or successor provisions thereto. <br /> <br />~ ~eneral Powers. The government and policy-making <br />decisions of the Carolinas Partnership shall be vested in the <br />Board of Directors, which shall control its property, be <br />responsible for its finances, and direct its affairs, including <br />the election of members and the perpetuation of its own <br />membership in accordance with the terms and provisions of these <br />By-Laws. <br /> <br /> <br />
