SECTION 2 . Members of the Board of Directors. At least members of the Board of Directors will represent Charlotte/Mecklenburg. Of those 16, at least ~/~embers of the Board shall be elected from the private sector as provided in -- this section 2 and shall be designated as "Private Sector Members of the ~oard." These private sector members shall be by a nominating committee appointed by the current Chairman of -- th~ ~oard. Eligibility for nomination shall reguire an investment of no l~ss =hah $5,000 per year for ,each of the years ~99~, ]992, ]993, 1994 and ~995. Election shall take place at the annual meeting of the Board. A vacancy at any time existing -- in ~he Private Sector Members of the ~oard may be filled in same m&nner as election at an annual meeting. In addition to the Private Sector Members of the Board, Charlotte/Mecklenburg's Board representation shall also consist of members from the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. _ These members shall consist of the Mayor, or his/her representative; the City Manager, or his/her representative; the County Commission Chair, or his/her representative; and the County Manager, or his/her represen~a~ive. -- The Board seats allocated to counties other than Mecklenburg shall be equal to the number of Mecklenburg public and private seats, plus one. Each county government outside Mecklenburg County which provides funding at a level of $.30 per capita Der year to the Partnership shall nominate one board member to the Partnership Board to represent tha~ county. Other regional representatives, and at least three elected officials, will be nominated and elected by the ~oard. Any municipality within any county in the region may nominate additional Board members to represent that municipality. Additional representation within any given county will require additional financial participation in the Carolinas Partnership of $20,000 per year. Board of Directors seats will be reaffirmed annually at the annual meeting. ~ Other member~ of the Board _o~ Directors. The Partnership's Executive Committee members shall also be . members of .the Board of Directors. The current Chairman of the Board of the Carolinas Partnership shall have the option to appoint seven additional directors to the Board in any of the years 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995. These appointments may be made without regard to the appointee's level of financial participation or the appointee's geographic location within the region. ~ Annual M~etinu.
