Necessary <br /> action will be taken (wrecker called, etc.), or as Garage Manager <br /> requests. <br />Gas cards for County fuel sites are issued to each vehicle upon notification <br />to the Garage Manager. Gas cards are to stay with the vehicle, not with the <br />driver. <br />Special equipment installed on the vehicle (fire extinguisher, flashlights, gas <br />cards, and first aid kits) must stay within that vehicle at all times. Drivers are <br />responsible for security of these items. <br />During severe winter weather, the Garage will install snow tires and chains <br />on essential and emergency County vehicles. Snow tires will be installed by <br />the Garage as necessary. Subsequent removal or change of snow tires can be <br />scheduled at the Garage depending upon the workload. When weather <br />conditions warrant snow chains, the Garage Manager will notify concerned <br />departments and arrange for vehicles authorized for chains, to be brought into <br />the Garage for installation. All shifts (Sheriff's Department) will report to the <br />Garage at that time. Vehicles needing chains after this time will be required <br />to take them to a service station that accepts one of the vehicles credit cards, <br />to have the chains installed or removed. <br />The following items are the responsibility of the driver to have replaced or <br />repaired by outside (non-County) services, unless otherwise specified by the <br />Garage Manager. Departments should use dealers which offer the State <br />Contract price for tires if applicable. (1) Replacement tires <br /> (2) Installation or repair of communication equipment <br /> (3) Washing or other appearance maintenance to vehicle <br />The Garage will schedule other outside (non-County) work unless specified <br />otherwise (i.e., suspension alignment, upholstery repair, warranty work, <br />exhaust system repair, etc.) It will be the driver's responsibility to have the <br />vehicle at the contracted service at the designated time and to also pick-up <br />the vehicle when finished. <br />The Garage is not responsible for personal items which are lost or stolen, <br />when the vehicle is serviced at the Garage or at an outside contracted service. <br />Warranty booklet, tag registration cards, state inspection certificate and <br />owners manuals must remain in the vehicle's glove compartment at all times. <br />No County employee is authorized to alter any equipment installed in a <br />County vehicle or repair any County vehicle, with the exception of Landfill <br />and Parks and Recreation equipment, which may be repaired by their <br />respective personnel. <br />Scheduled services generally will not be performed without at least one day <br />notification. <br /> <br /> <br />
