13 (3) .Signs. The owner of a vicious dog shall display in a prominent place on his or her premises a clearly visible warning sign indicating that there is a vicious dog on the premises. A similar sign is required to be posted on the pen or kennel of the animal. (4) Dog Fighting. No person, firm, corporation, organization, or department shall possess or harbor or maintain care or custody of any dog for the purpose of dog fighting, or train, torment, badger, bait or use any dog for the purpose of causing or encouraging the dog to attack human beings or domestic animals. (5) Insurance. Owners of vicious dogs must within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this ordinance provide proof to the Cabarrus County Health Director of public liability insurance in the amount of at least $100,000, insuring the owner for any personal injuries inflicted by his or her vicious dog. (6) Any violation of Section 10, "Vicious Animals," shall result in the immediate seizure and humane destruction of the animal. Section 11. Dangerous Animals. (1) It shall be unlawful for any person to own or in any way maintain or harbor any animal which is dangerous as defined in Section 4 (#9). (2) If the Director/Supervisor has determined that an animal is dangerous, then the Director/Supervisor shall notify the owner immediately in writing, if the owner is known and after reasonable efforts to (otherwise) notify the owner (have failed). The owner shall turn the animal over to the Department j~mediately after such notification. The Director/Supervisor shall have the authority to seize immediately an animal deemed dangerous. The Director/ Supervisor shall have the discretion to dispose of an animal in one (1) of only two (2) specific ways: a. By the humane destruction of the animal; or
