Article I Section 6 (#1). Failure to have dog license; penal.ty and <br /> seizure. PenaltM. <br /> In each reference to "dog" in the heading and in the narrative of tbis <br /> section, it was changed to read "dog and/or cat." <br /> <br />Article I Section 6 (#2). Seizure of the dog or cat. <br /> Fourth sentence changed to read, " then the owner shall request <br /> the review by the Board of Health in writing within the five days of <br /> the dog's or cat's impoundment and .... " (Addition of "by the <br /> Board of Health.") <br /> <br />Article I Section 8. Abandonment of Animals. <br /> New section added which is taken directly from General Statue 14-361.1 <br /> which reads as follows: "Any person being the owner or possessor, or <br /> having charge or custody of an animal, who willfully and without <br /> justifiable excuse abandons the animal is guilty of a misdemeanor <br /> punishable by a fine of up to fifteen hundred dollars ($1500) and <br /> imprisonment for up to six months." <br /> <br />EACH SECTION NUMBER AND REFERENCES TO SECTION NUMBERS AFTER SECTION 8 WERE <br />RE-NUMBERED AND T~E NEW NUMBERS ARE CITED IN THE FOLLOWING CORRECTIONS: <br /> <br />Article I Section 9 (#1). Restraint of Animals. <br /> Deleted next to last sentence in paragraph which read, "Provided, <br /> however, dogs kept on premises who are clearly under control or voice <br /> control of the owner and upon which the department has received no <br /> complaints are not subject to the restrictions contained herein unless <br /> the dog meets the definition of vicious or dangerous." <br /> <br />Article I Section 9 under Restraint of Animals (old #3 "Public Parks" and <br />old #4 "Park Areas" were deleted entirely. <br /> <br />Article I Section 9 (#3). Violations. <br /> Last portion. Penalty for owner's 1st offense changed to read, "$50 <br /> fine. Seizure of che animal unless owner immediately complies with <br /> Article I, Section 9,~' <br /> <br />Penalty for owner's 2nd offense changed to read, "$150 fine. Seizure <br />of the animal unless owner immediately complies with Article I, <br />Section 9." <br /> <br />Penalty for owner's 3rd and subsequent offenses changed to read, "$250 <br />fine. Seizure of the animal unless owner immediately complies with <br />Article I, Section 9." <br /> <br />Article I Section 10 (#1). Public Nuisance <br /> Addition to end of sentence in #1, "or frightening or harming <br /> livestock." <br /> <br /> <br />
