Article I Section 11 (f/]). Vicious Doss-Confinement <br /> The following portion deleted: "Provided, however, that the o~ner of <br /> a vicious dog may petition a veterinarian practicing in Cabarrus <br /> County to evaluate the animal and determine whether or not the animal <br /> meets the definition of vicious. The veterinarian may reques~ an <br /> exemption for the animal with full understanding that ~he exemption <br /> makes the veterinarian and not the county liable for any further <br /> vicious behavior by the animal in question." <br /> <br />Section now reads, "The owner of a vicious dog shall not suffer or <br />permit the dog to go unconfined. The vicious dog shall be maintained <br />in a secure dog fence." <br /> <br />Article I Section 11 (#5). Insurance. <br /> Entire section deleted. <br /> <br />Section 11 (#5) changed to read: "Any person who owns an animal that <br />has been declared vicious by the Director/supervisor shall have the <br />right to appeal this decision to the Cabarrus County Board of ~{ealth. <br />The owner of an animal declared vicious shall have the right to <br />request a hearing about that decision by submitting a written request <br />to the Board of Health within five (5) days after the Director/ <br />Supervisor's determination that the animal is vicious." <br /> <br />Article I Section 12 (#3). Section deleted as it became Section 11 (#5) as <br /> is stated above--(#4) then became new (#3). <br /> <br />Article I Section 12 (#3) [new #3]. Danserous Animals <br /> Deleted second sentence in paragraph which reads: "If funds are <br /> available and if adequate time is available, the Board of Health or <br /> their designee may involve a veterinarian appointment by the Board of <br /> Health or their designee to give a consulting opinion about the <br /> animal." <br /> <br />Article I Section 13 (#4). Failure to comply with written order. <br /> "50.00" changed to "$100.00" and "$150.00" changed to "$200.00." <br /> <br />Article I - Old Section 15. Adoptions <br /> Entire section deleted which read: "All animals adopted from the <br /> Department shall be either spayed or neutered within thirty (30) days <br /> of the adoption or the animal will be ceased by the Department without <br /> any refund of adoption fees." <br /> <br />Article I Section 16. Spay/Neuter <br /> New addition which reads as follows: "All dogs and cats adopted from <br /> the Animal Shelter shall be spayed/neutered. The person adopting the <br /> animal shall pay a $40.00 adoption fee. For this fee, the animal can <br /> be spayed/neutered at any local veterinarian's office in Cabarrus <br /> County." <br /> <br /> <br />
