Page 3 <br />Cabarrus County <br />August 24, 1992 <br /> <br />Emergency Services Activities <br /> <br />Met with Sheriff's Department staff to plan Emergency Medical Dispatch course to <br />be held in August for 17 CCSD personnel. <br /> <br />Regional Activities <br /> <br />EMS <br /> <br />Attended the N.C. Emergency Administrator's Association meeting in Wilmington. <br /> <br />Held a Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Steering Committee meeting to discuss <br />upcoming training and long range planning. <br /> <br />Finalized contracts for Medical Director, BTLS classes, CISD Clinical Coordinators, <br />EMD courses and the N.C. State and Federal Block Grant. <br /> <br />Held a Region F EMS Advisory Council meeting. <br /> <br />Met with several vendors on the CPR manikin issue. <br /> <br />Prepared a presentation for the Executive Director on regional EMS programs in <br />North Carolina. <br /> <br />Water Quality/Rivers <br /> <br />Worked with volunteers along with Duke Power, Department of Environmental <br />Management, Isothermal COG and Western Piedmont COG to do Benthic <br />Monitoring on 50 streams in the Catawba River Basin. This work included training <br />volunteer leaders, sampling selected streams and analyzing the collected samples. <br /> <br />Met with officials from Jantzen Corporation to accept a contribution to the Catawba <br />River Corridor Study. '" <br /> <br />Held meeting with approximately 25 people to discuss the Catawba River Corridor <br />Study. This group consisted of representatives from North and South Carolina and <br />included county managers and elected officials. <br /> <br />Conducted meeting of the Lake Wylie Marine Commission in which the <br />Commission voted on the proposed Safeboating Regulations. <br /> <br /> <br />
