Box 707 Concord, NC 28026-0707 Dear John: In a regular meeting on August 27, 1992, the Cabarrus County Parks~ and' Recreation Advisory. Commission took action ~on ~he following items: The Advisory Commission heard formalpresentations from nine Matching Incentive Grant Requests for Fiscal Year 1992-93. These nine community organizations requested $63,103.00 in projects; however, Cabarrus County has only $35,000.00 in project funds. After two hours of presentation and general discussion, the Advisory Commission approved to table this item until their meeting in September. In another agenda item, Planning and Zoning Director, Jerry Newton, presented a recommendation to the Advisory Commission that the Planning/Zoning Department and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission jointly form a special study committee to review the upcoming projects between the two boards, celie Richardson and Stan Carpenter were appointed to represent the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. The Advisory Commission also approved the Fall Youth Athletic Co-Sponsorship Agreements as presented by the staff. The Commission reviewed and approved the proposed revisions in Frank Liske Park hours of operations. The primary difference is Frank Liske Park will open earlier on Sundays during the Summer and on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter. These hours will eliminate the special request from groups and individuals to open the park early on Saturdays and Sundays. The extra reservations period will possibly produce enough revenue to offset the additional cost of Park Staff hours. The new park hours will become effective November 1, 1992.
