Fe <br /> <br />Ge <br /> <br />Ho <br /> <br />Jo <br /> <br />Recertification: Recertification to be every two <br />(2) years and will include a written test and 6 <br />practical stations. All evaluators will be <br />approved by First Responder Advisory Council. <br /> Station 1 - Primary and secondary survey <br /> Station 2 - Vital signs <br /> Station 3 - Airway management <br /> Station 4 - CPR and obstructed airway <br /> Station 5 - Splinting <br /> Station 6 - Hemorrhage control <br />Guidelines for acceptable continuing education <br />includes any area in Section 12 of this ordinance, <br />plus training in use of self-contained breathing <br />apparatus. A maximum of two (2) hours credit will <br />be given for self-contained breathing apparatus. <br />Must have identification cards issued by the <br />Cabarrus County Office of Emergency Medical <br />Services verifying that the individual is a <br />certified first responder. This card must by worn <br />by responders when on call. <br />An individual who possesses a current and valid <br />certification as a North Carolina Emergency Medical <br />Technician may be certified as an individual first <br />responder in Cabarrus County without having to <br />complete a forty (40) hour first responder course. <br />N.C.E.M.T. certification must remain current and <br />all other requirements of these guidelines must be <br />fulfilled. An E.M.T. whose certification has <br />expired will be allowed to revert to first <br />responder status if he/she pass first responder <br />recertification requirements. <br />First responder personnel will not be exempt from <br />any rules, regulations, or duties of their <br />sponsoring organization. <br /> <br />SECTION 6: Standards for Communications. <br /> <br /> 1. First responders will be controlled under all current FCC <br /> and Cabarrus County Fire Department radio procedures. <br /> <br />SECTION 7: Standards for Dispatch. <br /> <br />Cabarrus County first responder agencies will respond on <br />a 24 hour basis. <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Communications will dispatch first <br />responders to respond to accidental or medical <br />emergencies. <br /> <br /> <br />
