e <br /> <br />The first responder agency or individual will not respond <br />to any calls for assistance unless they notify the <br />Cabarrus County Communications Center. <br /> <br />Any calls received personally by a first responder agency <br />or individual must be reported first to the Cabarrus <br />County Communications Center before first responders <br />respond to the call. <br /> <br />Se <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The first responder or agency will only be dispatched to <br />emergency situations in their designated first responder <br />area - unless an emergency situation arises where their <br />assistance will be needed. <br /> <br />No first responder or agency will be allowed to cancel a <br />dispatched ambulance unless a patient release has been <br />obtained by the first responder or unless the call is <br />unfounded. If an ambulance is cancelled, the person <br />cancelling must identify him/herself. <br /> <br />A first responder or agency will be allowed to cancel a <br />rescue unit that has been dispatched of an entrapment or <br />pin-in if the situation no longer exists. If rescue is <br />cancelled, the person cancelling must identify <br />him/herself. <br /> <br />No more than four (4) first responders per patient shall <br />be at the emergency scene unless the conditions warrant <br />additional first responders. If more than the required <br />number of first responders appear at the scene, they <br />shall: <br />a. Be held in reserve in case their services are <br /> required. <br />b. Provide traffic control. <br /> <br />If at any time a Cabarrus County Emergency Medical <br />Service vehicle arrives on the scene before the first <br />responder, they may, at their discretion, cancel the <br />first responder in route or slow their response. <br /> <br />SECTION 8: Standards for Patient Care by First Responder Agency <br /> and the First Responder Member. <br /> <br />At the scene of an emergency, the first responder agency <br />shall administer basic life support and first-aid, <br />including the taking of vital signs, to the sick or <br />injured in a way that is consistent with the level of <br />first responder training set forth. First responders are <br />limited to basic care. <br /> <br /> <br />
